My joy in being with these ladies
during the pageant has grown
exponentially with each year. I have the pleasure of being with strong and
vivacious women whose life experiences I respect and from whom I can learn. All
the women involved in the pageant and the Classic Club are those I want to
emulate and I can only wish to have the same energy level now much less when I
am their age. These are certainly not “little old ladies”!assic Club are those I want to
emulate and I can only wish to have the same energy level now much less when I
am their age. These are certainly not “little old ladies”!
The beliefs and ideals that are shown not only during pageant weekend but
throughout the year by these ladies in the service they provide, stirs me to a
stronger commitment of giving to my own community in whatever ways possible.
They are a spark to light fires of enthusiasm to whatever cause you feel
strongly about. I invite you to visit with them and allow them to ignite your
life as they have done mine.

The first senior pageant I ever saw was when my grandmother Gilda Campbell won Ms. Senior Alabama 1987. When our first Director, Connie was asked to begin the Ms. Senior Georgia Pageant, I, as Connie's niece, (along with everyone else in the family) got involved. I cannot think of a better way to honor my grandmother's memory than to give my time to this pageant.
I believe that around Pageant time, we all start to share the same brain. I think it would be better said that these ladies' enthusiasm infects us all, and we get to share the wonder with her and the ladies. Since 1991, I have stayed up all hours of the night, run all over town, shepherded ladies all over and thoroughly enjoyed every second. My own family is now involved with the pageant. My teenage daughter sees the grace and unique beauty of the ladies involved in the Classic Club and the Pageant. What a wonderful set of ideals to pass to our next generation.
